Our Story
If you would have asked us a few years ago if we'd be raising chickens, building chicken tractors, or dreaming about owning a farm, we probably would have laughed. Yet looking back, it's clear God was preparing us long before we ever realized it. Hayoo's Farm wasn't born from a business plan. It was born from a desire to live differently. Like many people, we found ourselves caught up in the pace of everyday life—working long hours, chasing the next goal, and wondering if there was more to life than simply staying busy.
As we grew in our faith, our priorities began to change. We became less interested in building a comfortable life and more interested in building a faithful one. One that reflected the way we believe God calls us to live—with gratitude, integrity, hard work, and faithful stewardship of everything He has entrusted to us. Farming became a natural expression of that calling. Not because it's easy. Not because it's glamorous. But because every day reminds us that life ultimately belongs to God. Every sunrise...Every season...Every harvest...Every blessing...They're all His. Hayoo's Farm is our way of honoring that truth.
Today, we're still very much at the beginning of the journey. We don't own hundreds of acres. We aren't a multi-generation farming family. We're simply two ordinary people taking one faithful step at a time, trusting that God will continue to open and close the doors according to His will. Every flock we raise teaches us something. Every customer encourages us. Every challenge reminds us to depend on Him a little more than we did yesterday.
When you purchase from Hayoo's Farm, you're doing more than supporting a local farm. You're helping build something we pray will last for generations. A place where faith comes before profit. Where integrity matters more than convenience. Where quality is never sacrificed for speed. And where every meal shared around the table reminds us of the goodness and provision of God.
Whether you found us because you're looking for healthier food, you're curious about pasture-raised farming, or you simply enjoy following our journey, we're grateful you're here.
Thank you for being part of this story.
It truly means more than you know.
People often ask how we manage to build a farm while working full-time jobs. The honest answer? Because of Paige.
She's the heart of Hayoo's Farm.
While I'm always dreaming about what's next, Paige is the one who brings grace to every part of this life. She reminds me that people matter more than production, that our animals deserve gentle care, and that the little things we do with love are often the things people remember most.
She's the first to notice when something isn't right, the first to celebrate the small victories, and the first to make sure every customer feels like family. After a full day of work, she'll pull on her boots and step right back into farm life, not because she has to, but because she believes in what we're building together.
Her kindness shapes this farm as much as the fences, the fields, and the tractors ever could.
More than anything, Paige reminds me why Hayoo's Farm exists. Not simply to raise chickens, but to glorify Jesus Christ, love our neighbors well, and build a life rooted in faith, honesty, and stewardship.
Without her, Hayoo's Farm wouldn't feel like home.
Meet Paige
If you've ever received a long message from us explaining why we do something a certain way, there's a good chance Donovan wrote it.
Donovan has always been the kind of person who asks why. Why should food be raised this way? Why have we accepted shortcuts? Why are families told they have to choose between affordable food and food they can trust?
That curiosity turned into an obsession.
He spends countless hours reading, researching, asking questions, visiting farms, and learning from people who have been doing this long before social media made farming popular. Every decision at Hayoo's Farm, from the way the birds are raised to the way customers are treated, is intentional. Nothing is done simply because "that's how it's always been."
But more than anything, Donovan believes this farm belongs to God.
Hayoo's Farm exists because of God's faithfulness, and every animal we care for is ultimately His creation entrusted to us. Our goal isn't just to raise exceptional food, it's to honor Christ in the way we work, serve people, and steward what He's given us.
When you support Hayoo's Farm, you're supporting someone who genuinely loses sleep trying to do things the right way, even when it's harder, slower, or less profitable.
Because doing what's right has always mattered more than doing what's easy.
